ACT Health dental vouchers
Canberra Health Services can offer eligible adults a voucher to have dental treatment done by a participating private provider. Dr Justin Lee is a registered provider at Westfield Belconnen and accepts these vouchers.
Vouchers come from Canberra Health Services, not from us
Eligibility is assessed by Canberra Health Services, and a public dental clinician decides whether you're offered a voucher and which type. A private practice can't issue one or put you on the list. Call Central Health Intake on (02) 5124 9977 to be assessed. Once you have a voucher, bring it here and Dr Justin can carry out the treatment.
The two voucher types
Emergency voucher
For the problem causing you trouble right now: pain, a broken tooth, an infection. The appointment deals with your most urgent issue. A separate assessment is needed for each new problem.
General restorative voucher
For a broader course of general dental care rather than a single urgent problem. It is the work that gets your mouth back to a stable, healthy baseline.
Which voucher you're offered depends on the clinical assessment made by Canberra Health Services. Denture services are also available through the public system.
Who can access public dental care in the ACT
Adult public dental services are generally available to ACT residents who hold one of the following:
- Aged 18 or over and living in the ACT
- A Services Australia issued Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card
- A Department of Veterans' Affairs Veteran Card (Gold or White Card)
Co-payments can apply depending on your circumstances, including for some Veteran Card holders. Canberra Health Services makes the final assessment.
