Health funds
The practice processes on-the-spot health fund claims, so you generally only need to pay the gap. Coverage varies a lot between funds and policies. I'd recommend checking directly with your fund what's covered and what isn't before your visit, so there are no surprise fees.
Preferred provider health funds
Pacific Smiles Dental Belconnen is a preferred provider with a number of health funds, though preferred provider status is actually something each dentist has to agree to individually, and not every dentist chooses to sign on. I've personally signed on as a preferred provider with:
- AHM
- CBHS
- Defence Health
- HBF
- HCF
- Medibank
- NIB
If your fund is on this list, it's worth mentioning when you book. If it isn't, you can still claim on the spot. Just be sure to check your gap amount with your fund beforehand.

Before any treatment beyond a check-up, you'll be given a clear quote so you know the likely cost upfront, with no surprises after the fact.

Payment plans
Afterpay and Zip Pay are available for eligible treatments, letting you spread the cost over time. Ask at reception which treatments qualify.
CDBS (Child Dental Benefits Schedule)
I'm a long-standing registered CDBS provider, so if your child is eligible, their benefit can be used here. Eligibility is set by Medicare, not by the practice. It's worth confirming your own eligibility via myGov before booking, since it varies by family circumstances.
DVA (Department of Veterans' Affairs)
I'm also a long-standing DVA provider. If you hold a DVA Gold or eligible White Card, get in touch to confirm what's covered for your situation.
ACT Health emergency and general restorative vouchers
I'm an established provider for ACT Health emergency and general restorative dental vouchers. Adult dental services under this scheme are available to ACT residents who are the primary holder of one of the following:
- A Services Australia issued Pensioner Concession or Health Care Card
- A Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) Veteran Card (white and gold card only)
- An ACT Services Access card
- A Commonwealth Seniors Health card
As with CDBS and DVA, it's worth confirming your own eligibility before your visit.
