Handle it by the crown (the chewing surface), not the root. If it's dirty, rinse it gently without scrubbing. If possible, try to reinsert it into the socket, or store it in milk. Getting to a dentist quickly, ideally within 30 to 60 minutes, gives the best chance of saving the tooth.
Save any pieces if you can and rinse your mouth with warm water until you can get in for an appointment.
Keep it if possible, avoid chewing on that side, and get in touch so we can arrange a repair or temporary fix.
